The Virtues of the Few
...by the Son.
Unworthy sinner, you have been purchased!
Darkness is no longer your home.
-Welcome this profoundly!
What you will become will not come from who you are,
So, never forget your origin.
-Walk in this pensively.
Oh, live it so!
Also, love those yet to know this.
-Witness to this passionately.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. --Galatians 2:20
Alert to Grace
- UNWORTHY—This must be the constant utterance that laces each word of the disciple's speech. It keeps the heart and mind positioned well.
- DARKNESS TO LIGHT—We must not allow the memory of our origin to fade into obscurity. It is not who we are presently but it is where we are from. Now, as a purchased child of the King we must remember the darkness of our origin and exist, resemble, and represent the Light of the Savior in the world where we presently dwell.
- GRACE CONSCIOUSNESS —It is from the benevolent heart of the Lord that provision has been made for us to be disciples. Redeemed by the blood of Christ alone, our salvation was very costly. In gratitude to that cost, we serve.
Mindful of Humility
ACKNOWLEDGED — Rescued from slavery and given new life, we embrace responsibility. Yet, understanding our personal journey is still unfolding, and our enemy is eager to destroy, we seek to be kind in our conversation, gentle in our challenges and patient with other's responses whether they have chosen to be rescued or not. After all, from this position, we also have come.
Driven by Love
ABSORBED BY THE FATHER — Because we understand that it was out of God's love He acted, so must we. To the unlovable we go because unlovable we were.
